Thom helped start and build The Metro High School Academies—a nationally recognized program

"I helped form 34 business and hospitality partnerships with Hillwood and three other zone high schools. Ten years later, 350 businesses partner with Academies in all our zoned high schools, offering students mentorships, internships, and externships."

Thom has also served on the Mayor’s Advisory Board on Exceptional Education and as as PENCIL Foundation Volunteer.

 

For his dedication and work Thom received  the Metro Nashville Public Schools CEO Champions Award AND the Pencil Foundation Volunteer of the Year.

FYI: Thom's passion for education began long before moving his family to Nashville in 2002. While in Atlanta he was awarded The Golden Apple for his leadership and involvement with the Atlanta School System.
